Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
In short: Intercore is built with privacy at its core. All your files, clipboard data, and call information stay on your local Wi-Fi network and never leave your devices. We only collect anonymous, non-identifying usage analytics to understand how many people use the app — never your personal data or content.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Intercore ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our application (the "App") on Android, Windows, or macOS.
Intercore is designed to enable file sharing, clipboard synchronization, and call notifications between your devices over your local Wi-Fi network. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
2. Information We DO NOT Collect
Intercore does not collect, transmit, store, or access any of the following:
- Files that you send or receive through the App
- Clipboard content (text, images, or any other data you copy/paste)
- Phone call information, caller IDs, or phone numbers
- Personal information (name, email address, phone number, location)
- Device identifiers that can be linked to your real identity (IMEI, MAC address, phone number)
- Your Wi-Fi network name, password, or IP address
- Contacts, photos, messages, or any other personal content on your device
3. Information We Collect (Anonymous Analytics Only)
To understand how many people use Intercore and which features are most valuable, we collect minimal, anonymous usage data. This data cannot be used to identify you as an individual.
3.1 What We Collect
- Device ID: A randomly generated UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) created locally when you first install the App. This ID is stored only on your device and is deleted if you uninstall the App. It cannot be linked to your real identity.
- Platform: The type of device you're using (Android, Windows, or macOS)
- App Version: The version of Intercore you have installed
- Event Names: Basic usage events such as "app_launched", "file_sent", "clipboard_synced", "call_notification_shown"
- Timestamps: When each event occurred (used to calculate daily/monthly active users)
3.2 What We Don't Collect
We do not collect:
- File names, file sizes, file types, or file contents
- Clipboard contents or clipboard history
- Device location, IP addresses, or network information
- Any information that can identify you personally
3.3 How We Use Analytics Data
We use this anonymous data solely to:
- Understand how many people actively use Intercore (daily/monthly active users)
- Identify which features are most used so we can improve the App
- Detect and fix bugs or performance issues
- Make informed decisions about future development
3.4 Where Analytics Data Is Stored
Analytics data is sent to our own Cloudflare Workers backend and stored in a Cloudflare D1 database (a secure, serverless database service). This data is not shared with any third-party analytics companies.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted connection) to: https://intercore-analytics.gaurav55u.workers.dev/events
3.5 Offline Queue
If your device is offline, analytics events are temporarily stored locally in a small file (analytics_queue.json) on your device. When your device reconnects to the internet, these events are sent in a batch to our server. This file is automatically managed by the App and does not contain any personal information.
4. How Your Core Data Is Handled
4.1 Local Wi-Fi Only
All core functionality of Intercore — file transfers, clipboard synchronization, and call notifications — operates exclusively over your local Wi-Fi network. This means:
- Data is sent directly from one of your devices to another using UDP (User Datagram Protocol) on your local network
- No data passes through our servers or any third-party services
- No internet connection is required for these features to work (only the initial app download and analytics reporting require internet)
- Your files and clipboard data never leave your home or office network
4.2 No Cloud Storage
Intercore does not use any cloud storage services. Files are transferred directly between your devices in real-time and are not stored on any server.
4.3 No User Accounts
Intercore does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information. There are no usernames, passwords, email addresses, or profiles.
5. Permissions Required by the App
Intercore requires certain permissions to function. Here's why we need each one:
5.1 Android Permissions
- Network Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE): Required to discover other devices on your local Wi-Fi network and to send analytics data to our server.
- Notification Access: Required to detect incoming phone calls so we can show call notifications on your PC. This is an optional permission — if you don't grant it, call notifications will not work, but all other features will function normally.
- Photos/Media Access (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES on Android 13+, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older versions): Required to auto-send screenshots you take. This is an optional permission — if you don't grant it, you can still manually send files.
- Foreground Service: Allows the App to run in the background so it can receive files and call notifications even when the screen is off.
- Boot Completed: Allows the App to start automatically when your device boots (optional — you can disable this in Android settings).
- Post Notifications: Allows the App to show you notifications for incoming files and calls.
5.2 Windows/macOS Permissions
- Network Access: Required to communicate with your Android device over Wi-Fi.
- Clipboard Access: Required to read and write clipboard data for synchronization.
- File System Access: Required to save files you receive and read files you send.
6. Data Security
- All local network communication uses your Wi-Fi router's built-in security (WPA2/WPA3 encryption if enabled on your router)
- Analytics data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted)
- The App does not implement additional end-to-end encryption for local file transfers because data never leaves your local network
- We recommend using a secure Wi-Fi network (password-protected) to prevent unauthorized devices from accessing your local network
7. Data Retention
- Local Device: The App stores a device ID and analytics queue file on your device. This data is deleted when you uninstall the App.
- Server-side Analytics: We retain anonymous analytics data for up to 12 months for statistical analysis. After 12 months, older data may be aggregated or deleted.
8. Third-Party Services
Intercore does not use any third-party analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or Aptabase). Our analytics system is built in-house and runs on Cloudflare Workers, a secure serverless platform.
Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare Workers and D1 (database) to store anonymous analytics data. Cloudflare is a reputable infrastructure provider with strong security and privacy practices. You can review Cloudflare's privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
9. Children's Privacy
Intercore does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has used the App and we have inadvertently collected information, please contact us at intercoreapp@gmail.com and we will delete any relevant data.
10. International Users
Intercore is available worldwide. Analytics data is stored on Cloudflare's global network and may be processed in various data centers depending on your location. Cloudflare complies with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and other international privacy laws.
11. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA Compliance)
Even though Intercore collects only anonymous data that cannot identify you, we respect your rights under privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA:
- Right to Access: You can request information about the data we collect. However, because our analytics data is anonymous and uses a randomly generated device ID, we cannot link any data to you personally.
- Right to Deletion: You can uninstall the App at any time, which will delete the device ID and all local data. If you want us to delete server-side analytics data associated with your device ID, email us at intercoreapp@gmail.com with your device ID (you can find it in the App's settings or debug logs).
- Right to Opt-Out: Currently, the App sends anonymous analytics by default. If you wish to disable analytics entirely, please contact us and we will provide instructions in a future app update.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may notify you through the App or on our website (intercode.pages.dev).
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
13. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us:
14. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
Under GDPR, we process anonymous analytics data based on our legitimate interest in improving the App and understanding usage patterns. Because the data is anonymous and cannot identify you, it does not constitute "personal data" under GDPR.
15. Summary
To summarize:
- ✅ Your files, clipboard, and calls stay on your local Wi-Fi
- ✅ No personal data is collected
- ✅ Only anonymous usage counts are sent to our server
- ✅ No third-party analytics SDKs
- ✅ No user accounts or tracking
- ✅ You can uninstall anytime and all local data is deleted
Thank you for trusting Intercore. We built this app because we were frustrated with slow, complicated alternatives — and we believe privacy should be the default, not a feature.
